payton ~ 11 months

Payton Joy...

....we left on your 11 month birthday to go to Destin, FL so I have a lot of pics of you while we were there. :) And...I had to thrown in a few others that I felt just captured your spunky little personality. :)

At 11 months you...
  • ARE WALKING! Actually started walking and 10 months and one week old. It is so funny to see this little bitty body walking around. You are doing great though and love the increased independence it brings you!
  • say 'ni-night,' 'Da-da,' 'Ma-ma,' 'hi,' 'nana,' 'bye bye,'...and a few more...just can't think of all of them.
  • are not a big fan of the sand we found out. You cried when it got stuck to your hands.
  • are a lover of the ocean though! Absolutely no fear! You ran right into it and loved when the waves would come and splash you...loved hearing you laugh!
  • lift up your hands when we say, "Praise the Lord!" :)
  • still love to swing outside.
  • love to carry your shoes around the house all the time in hopes that we will take you outside every second of the day.
  • have some hair that sticks straight up at the back of your head and makes us all laugh. We can wet it down, but as soon as it dries, it pops right back up!
  • throw food off of your highchair tray if you do not want it or if/when you are done. This does not make me happy and we are working on this. ;)
  • enjoy being pushed around in Addison's baby doll stroller...yes, her baby doll stroller. You can fit in it and will just go sit in it. Addison and Kaden fight over who gets to push you around the house.
  • love ice cream...just found this out. I don't think you would stop eating unless we really did stop you. :)
  • still love playing with your brother and sister and continue to follow them wherever they go. I am so blessed that you all have each other and that you play so well together. So thankful...truly thankful...that I get to be home with all of my munchkins. I love my life! And...we sure do love YOU sweet girl.

apology to the neighbors

I think the Broady's owe a big apology to the neighbors today for all of the ruckus we caused!! :) Addison and Kaden took the pots and pans outside and were banging...seriously banging...away. This started in the family room until it was too loud to handle. I told them to take it out on the deck and they did...and got even louder. It was so annoying I finally had to put an end to it, but they had fun while it lasted. They loved all of the different sounds that each pot/pan made when you hit it. A little glimpse into their fun...

 The Master Drummer himself. :)
The only thing deterring them from the musical craziness was food. We love to eat around here.

summer days and sprinkler fun

Oh sprinkler, how we love you! You have allowed us to come outside this summer. :)

Addison loves every second of running through the water and getting soaked.
This is Kaden's fun in the sprinkler...just chillin'.
Love this pic of her...pure enjoyment!
Who do these feet belong to??
 Precious Payton

After much fun....Kaden was ready to go in.

Then it was on to the front porch to enjoy some fruit.
 Yummy strawberries for all!

And some silly faces with our strawberries...
...more silly faces with our oranges.

Then some play time in the driveway.

And...finally a sundae cone!

 Payton was checking it out!
I love how Kaden ate his cone from the bottom...up. Made for a nice mess for his mama to clean up!
Payton finally decided she might be able to get it! :)

Love the summer days and when the kids can get outside and enjoy it. :)

camp legacy 2011

We had the famous Camp Legacy again this year! Lots of work, but lots of fruit from our labor as well...or I should say...Mom and Dad's labor. And, of course, the million other people that step in and help as well. With all of the craziness going on with Allie this year...in and out of the hospital and how awful all of that has been, we wondered how camp would go. But...a lot of people pitched in. There were many, many kids sooo anticipating camp and lots of lives to be shaped, molded and changed. It had to happen and it did!
These are the 'Day Camp' kids this year. This was our first year for that...and this was 'my baby' this year. How do I get myself into this stuff?!?! It was great! We allowed some of the younger kids that get to hear all about Camp Legacy, but never get to attend, to come for one day this year. Addison was super excited about that!
 The boys.
 The girls.

 Some playground fun after lunch.
A little swim time as well.

Snack Shack...gotta love the ice cream when it is scorchin' hot outside.
 Sistas!
My amazing brother doing praise and worship.
This year Mom and Dad focused HEAVILY on GRACE! Actually our whole church is going deep into this right now. Soooo....we did a play off of that and did 'The Amazing G-Race." Chelsey worked EXTREMELY hard to plan all the challenges and obstacles the kids had to do this year. Lots of fun and work!
Soccer challenge.
Running from one challenge to the next.

This was my favorite...we filled a field with about 1,500 paper bags! Inside just a few of them were 3 separate papers that read 1) Richly Blessed, 2) Highly Favored, and 3) Deeply Loved. They had to find those in order and bring them to Chelsey to analyze. And...only two members of each team could be out on the field at a time. Those of us who set up for this craziness were covered in sweat!!! And...worn out!
 A little b-ball.

 Eatin' time.

One awesome team...who won a portion of the race!

Camo Crazy!!!
Yes...these are my siblings and yes they look crazy...but so did everyone else! We had a camo crazy dance party one night and you had to dress accordingly. Chels and Dylan took it to the extreme!
Some people used what they had...ha!

 Siblings! Open your eyes, Derek!
Chelsey and Dylan coordinated a lot and did daily room inspections...oh my! All teams could earn points for various things they did, good attitudes, sportsmanship, clean rooms, cleaning up after meals, etc. To try and earn extra points (and they often did!), they would leave presents for them in their rooms so Dyl and Chels would see them during inspections. This was one of the signs they found. They also got candy, notes, sparking grape juice, stickers, etc.
They then announced points at each session we had so teams knew where they stood...and where they needed to improve!
This was a lesson my Mama taught with some help from the studio audience. :)

Amazing Grace....Amazing camp....Amazing kids....Amazing year!
