kaden's little game

Just a quick thing about Kaden...this was him eating apple sauce the other day. His new favorite thing/game is to bite on to the spoon when you put it into his mouth. He looks so silly! He has a pretty strong bite too. I just wanted to capture what he looked like. I had to quickly let go of the spoon, grab the camera, and snap it.
I remember Addison doing this too.

Another quick thing about Kaden too is his new little sign of "worship." :) All we say is, "Kaden, Praise the Lord!" and up his hand goes! Sometimes it is both hands...today we just got one. :)

school during summer

Addison wakes up nearly every morning asking to do her school. She loves every minute of it. I am really trying to set aside time each day, but wanted to take advantage of summer as well. She obviously has no concept of summer break...so I want to take advantage of that as well! This morning we pulled out the books and other things and dove in. I have been trying to do it everyday, or at least something everyday to challenge her. I love that she is so hungry to learn. We learned the letter Ee today as well as things that make the /e/ sound. She was fascinated with her little elephant...so cute. Notice the trunk...her little finger. :)
We went over numbers, read books, etc., etc. Then I just drew some lines on construction paper and gave her the scissors...been trying to give her lots of practice with scissors. She LOVES to cut paper! I think she did pretty well for a three year old...impressive sweet girl!
So, I guess we got a head start here at the Broady house...which is good because we will surely miss some days when this little baby comes. :)

Amish Woods Furniture

Went by my mom's store today...well, where she works...Amish Woods Furniture...to see her and pick up Kylie, my little sis, for a bit. (A little plug...if anyone is looking for some new furniture, you should check them out. It is the best of the best...wonderful quality, will last forever...AND looks amazing too. They have every style you could want. I love going in there and just looking around and putting things on my wish list. :)) The kids love going in there...they play and explore...until a customer comes in and I have to remove them from climbing around. Kaden absolutely loves this chess/checker board they have. Every time we go on there, he finds his way over to where it is...makes a run for it almost. Check out how 'serious' he is about it!
They have these cute little rockers for kids as well...just Kaden's size and the girls enjoyed pushing him.
Pretty table setting with the kids in the background.

"Your sweet boy is awake!"

I never ever want to forget this. So, luckily we are in a season where Addison and Kaden totally love each other...they do occasionally have their moments, but for the most part, they play well together, laugh at each other, etc. If Addison wakes up before Kaden she just about drives me crazy asking me if she can go wake up Kaden. And...if she has spent the night at my mom and dad's or Keith's mom's, Kaden will just walk in her room and stand there. It's as if he is asking, "Mom, where is she?" It is kind of cute and sad! :)

So, on an average moring when we are all home and when Addison does finally hear her brother babbling and talking (or yelling), she calls across the house, "Mom, your sweet boy is awake!" So great! I think I just say that a lot...especially when I get him out of bed..."There is my sweet boy!" And leave it to Addison to pick up on it. She doesn't miss a beat around here. She is quite the observant little three year old. Then she'll say, "Can I get him, can I get him?" All that means is talk to him until I come get him out of bed. I love this though...a sweet memory I want to remember. Here is what I see when I walk into my "sweet boy's" room.
Always with the thumb and blanket!

huber's for addison

My sister Chelsey had to go out to Huber's the other day to do a couple things for work and called to see if Addison wanted to go with her. I can honestly say that Addison has NEVER passed up the opportunity to go anywhere with Chels. She LOVES her Aunt Rae-Rae! (Rae is her middle name and somehow that has been her name for as long as I can remember.) I think the pictures show why she has so much fun with her. Chelsey is one of the funnest people to be around...always has a blast and is full of great, crazy ideas! Love you, Chels!
And...just for memory's sake...and so I can make sure I do this to her kids in a couple years...this is what she gave Addison while they were gone on this little road trip: ice cream, skittles, coke, a huge sucker/lollipop about as big as her head, and gum! Seriously?! Addison...spoiled??? :)

holiday world

We normally try to go to Holiday World each summer...but I was wondering if we were going to this year. I wondered how Kaden would do....and I am huge, ha!...and the weather has been just soooo hot! But we decided pretty spur of the moment to go one night, and we went the next morning. The weather was GREAT! Low 80's and little humidity...good for a pregnant lady. I love it there. It is so family oriented and you can always find something to do no matter what age the kids are. Addison loved it and Kaden did very well...so proud of my little man!
She has no fear of the rides...she wanted to get on everything she saw.
He was pretty content to sit in the stroller while Addison rode some rides...please note the blanket though! He is totally attached! :)
Kaden slept for an hour or more in the stroller when we went into the water park. When he woke up, we quickly got him dressed so he could enjoy it. I think he loved the fact that he could walk in the water and that the area was so big.
I guess Keith was always on the other side of the camera because I don't have any pics of him...kinda sad!

Camp Legacy 2010

Four years ago, my parents started a Christian Summer Camp for just elementary kids at the time. Over the past few years it has blossomed and grown to include first through twelth grades. It had humble beginnings in my parent's back yard in tents...yep tents! Those were the days! This year we have several churches involved...almost 150 kids...not counting all the counselors and staff. We held it at Country Lake in Henryville...a super great facility for a summer camp. It was there last year as well.

There was gobs of time, effort and prayer that went into this huge event...as does every year. And every year it seems more and more lives are touched and literally changed as a result. Both kids and youth alike leave with a fresh understanding of the Lord and a renewed hunger for more of Him. Testimony after testimony has come from this year's endeavor. Here are some pics from this year's Camp Legacy!
These were the wagons that took the kids all over the large grounds for different activities.
They have amazing water activities on the lake...a blob, zip line, paddle boats...and the list goes on!
This was taken during some wonderful relay races set up by my sis, Chelsey and my sis in law, Courtney. They were that Activities Directors this year and did amazing! A very busy job! And...that is shaving cream on his head...everyone was totally gross and disgusting by the end of these...covered with mud, grass, shaving cream, totally soaked...but had tons of fun!
Hangin' Out before dinner
Outfits from the 'Goin Green Groove'...a dance party we had one night. You had to be "green" in color or "green" in environmental terms...or both. So funny!
Small Group Time with their counselor to discuss the message just presented.
Great Praise & Worship and Ministry time.
My Dad & Mama at the Closing Ceremony as people stood to applaud all of their hard work. They work for months to make this possible.
So hard to choose which pictures to share. I took hundreds! This is a small glimpse. A great year...Praise the Lord!
