steamboat race

Keith called me at work on the day of the steamboat race and said he wanted to try to head down to watch it. I'm pretty sure he has mentioned this just about every year for a few years...but with little kids it just never really sounded like 'fun' to me. This year, though, with them being a bit older, I am all about some adventure. :) We had Kyle and Karly and little Beven over for some pizza before we headed down to the river.
It took us of about 30 seconds to get there! We actually got to sit up at the Vissings house...on their nice seated area outside to watch...nice Jeff hospitality. And...a great view! They were so nice to us.
I managed to grab some pics of the kiddos playing around.

Miss Thang thought she owned the place. :)
Checking out the boats coming down the river with their daddy.

So big to be going as fast as they were.
K-dogg did not enjoy when they sounded their horn...pretty loud! He was covering his ears.
 Little Adders.
 Sweet Beven...love that face.
And...this was Addison's favorite activity of the night: walking the dog. They allowed her to hold on to the leash and walk their precious cargo around. She was IN LOVE. She totally loves dogs these days.

We had a fun time and then headed home for the normal routine of baths, prayers, and bedtime. Glad Keith got his wish of watching the race...finally. :)

  1. I remember heading down to Utica Pike and watching the race when I was a kid. Good times! :)
